Singapore Day 1, Thrifty Hunting.

(As I'm collecting a huge amount of Jedi forces to get up from this bed), I can't wait to share you story of my 3 days shopping-till-you-drop event with Singasik. Just like you knew it before, Singapore Tourism Board held a photo competition on Facebook which the lucky winners will have the chance to spend: 2 days in Singapore and shop 1000 SGD cash with me as your personal fashion consultant along the trip! :)

thrift outer from Spring Wipe Out, John Lennon tee & sunglasses Riots Barbie, DIY ripped black jeans, shoes Converse.

I took a flight a day earlier to Singapore so I could have my own leisure time without taking the winners' shopping time xD On the first day, I decided not to go to malls and just walking around looking for something I haven't tried before. Then I went to Chinatown and planning to stop by at Ann Siang Hill, just 5 minutes walking from my hotel in Upper Cross Street, Chinatown. I was heading to Oakham Market, it's usually open at 2 PM so I waited a little longer at the cafe right beside the Oakham Market, called K-ki, suggested by Kak Ve Handojo. It's a tiny cafe and also a unique stationary & toystore, Little Drom Store.

They got some fine pastries I LOVEEEE! That one above is a very tempting Champagne Mousse. All the pastries are dropdead gorgeous and also as yummy as it looks. I'm a sucker for cute foods so I definitely gonna come back here soon.

Finally the OM store is open and I found what I was looking for! I first thought it was some kind of vintage market, but actually it was quite a small place in a basement, filled with vintage clothes all S$16.

...But what attract me better is the ambience and the shoe rack. It's a rack full of thrift shoes, with different condition, colors, and sizes (the price iss S$59 for all, I guess). Most of them are original Doc Mart boots, made in England (yum), and I'm so lucky I found THIS:

Right in front of me, the one and only, and under the shoes it's written perfectly 37, my shoe size! Histerically brought this pair of shoes to the cashier and off I went to Sungei Road & Bugis, but Ann Siang Hill is the highlight of the day. Anyway if you're visiting Oakham Market, note that this store only opens every Friday till Sunday. Some seasonal flea markets around Singapore also don't open regularly, so have a nice planning before the trip. :)

  9. oh i almost bought that pair last month but ended up with a dark green one with white laces ;) btw, the $16 goods aren't vintage, they're new. the prices of the vintage pieces aren't fixed, ranging from 29.95 (usually cropped baseball polos or plaids)-200+ (leather jacket, suede jackets, etc). price for low docs is 49 and for the high ones is 59, if i'm not mistaken... i know this because i used to be a true blood om whore lol

  11. btw k ki is definitely a nice place for conversations/catching up with friends, this seems trivial but i really like the smell of the place. try little red robin hood (lrrh) next time, it's seriously richhh dripping with precious moisture if you're a fan of dark chocolate. and it's got some surprisingly pleasant filling inside which you should find out for yourself what it is because i definitely don't wanna spoil the fun of it.... :D hope you'll come back soon :)
