NEWTOWN.

The first glance to Newtown, one funky suburb where I stayed while I'm in Sydney. And it only took one glance and I'm in love. This small, enchanting neighborhood that makes me feel like I'm living in 50-60s era. Filled with lovely cafes, vintage stores, tattoo studios, the atmosphere, the people... I am so sold. Don't you wish you could just live here forever? Everything here is pleasing my eyes. And every Friday & Saturday, the hipness level just increased twice with all uniquely dressed people along the street. What I tried to capture here are just a small detail of this area's loveliness that captivated me.

Vinnies, one of the well-known thrift store here for charity.

Lucky to have Vinnies just across my hostel. They also have another store (three times bigger than the one in Newtown) in Paddington, Oxford Street. They're selling secondhand clothes, shoes, and household with quality, in cheap price. That's where I found a Zara leather jacket in fine condition for only $20. Or this brand-new dress people gave away for donation, with the price $99 (tag still attached on the dress) they're selling it for $14. There is also another charity shop that I love, it's from the Red Cross Foundation. I bought a brand-new Topshop dress only for $5. Cray-zeh.

...our shopping money goes for fund-raising.

...and this is where people give away their clothes for donation to be sold at Vinnies. Thank you, people with good deeds, for letting me have your stuffs. :')

...Yes, there are lots of extreme discounts and closing down sale going on here in Sydney. And there are also the *always* discount store. One of them is CLEAR IT, Newtown. I thought this is where the post-discount dead stock stuffs goes, they're selling it for half-priced. I found a $98 dress and the price is ONLY $9 after discount. Shopping spree!

There was this -somekind of gothic / punk girl store -- in Newtown, selling manic panic hair dye, my curiosity got me to enter that store and buy one jar of it. And it surprised me when I entered that store, it was actually a small salon! there were three or four hairdressers with awesome haircut & neon-colored hair. I was so stoked seeing them and their customers (also with awesome, vibrant hair colors), that I forgot to take some pictures of what inside it. It's Furr Hair Salon, turned out to be one of the best salon here, specialising in fierce haircut & hair colouring. I'll be back someday to try the experience and my hair cut or coloured there! :)

...Yes, I definitely love my first day here in Sydney. :)
